Fish Creek Hatchery

The foundation of two large beams were laid across the stream formed by a spring.

The walls are 2 X6's cut from logs harvested on site.

The ridge pole has been positioned and nailers placed in the walls for vertical siding.

Roof rafers are made of 2 X 6's. The end rafters are the first to be put into place.

Metal roofing was used for the roof. The pitch of the roof is 45 degrees for strength.

The siding is 1 x 8 planks installed vertically

One of the fish tanks used to hatch eggs has been insulated. Latent heat from the water will prevent freezing.

A large tile was placed into the ground at the site of a spring. Water will be gravity fed directly to the hatchery via a pipe.

The Atlantic salmon eggs came shipped in a cardboard box packed with ice.

Inside the box were styrofoam trays containg the eggs.

Here club members are transferring the eggs from the shipping tray to the hatching trays.
